Travel Diary: Vietnam

Traveling is something that most people dream of doing for most of their lives. I’m very grateful to have been able to travel to a few places in my life so far.

The ultimate will obviously be to see and experience most of this wonderful planet we can call home. To gather stories to tell my future children, taking them places worth experiencing, But for now, this story will have to do.

A while ago I got the opportunity to travel to Vietnam with my class from High School. With this being one of the most amazing memories I have ever had, what better way than to share it with people contemplating on where to travel next.

Vietman, other than being one of the least expensive countries to travel too, it may be one of the most beautiful. The exotic beaches and the extravagant night life, Vietnam hold the key to a great vacation gateway. Not to talk about their rich history and amazing museums, it has truly ticked all the boxes for me.

A few nights spent in Saigon having an enlightening tour at war museums and entertaining rooftop parties. At the night market we all had a great time shopping for all
the random bits and pieces that caught our eyes, from clothes to gadgets to souvenirs.

Next we flew to Da Lat and from there taking an old steam train to a Weasel Coffee Farm and Silk factory. There we had the most amazing brewed weasel mocha coffee sweetened with condensmilk, while taking in the lushes green surrounds.

Our next stop was three unforgetfull nights in Nha Trang which, may I say, was a my favorite spot. With seaside resorts and sunset beach parties, it is the city of the lights and exuberant night life.

We ended up in Hanoi, the capital of the country, hiring motorbikes and riding them alongside the breathtaking rice farms and country side.

I strongly advise any young (or older) traveler who loves exploring new cultures, appreciates traveling through the countryside and snorkeling in blue waters to consider this astounding country.

'Till next time. xx
